My vision for creating a beautiful bed and breakfast is where people can enjoy their surroundings and be given the opportunity to balance their body, mind, and spirit. The right feeling built into The Spirit of the Lakes is very important to me. Helping guests feel accepted and care for will create a space where they can just “be” and they will not have “to do” anything. I believe having the center filled with fresh flowers, good smells, clean surrounding, and relaxing spaces can transform people from “doing” into “being”.
When one feels accepted just the way they are they can open up and tap into their own purpose, their love of nature, their truth, and their dreams. Each one of us must do our own inner work. Every guest, if they choose, can start to do that by having a massage, eating a good meal, taking a quiet walk, participating in a class, or just relaxing. Creating a beautiful bed and breakfast home, filled with joy and self acceptance, having the atmosphere of a safe haven and a sacred retreat from the busy-ness of life, and then inviting others to enjoy it, is a part of my passion that I wish to share.
I believe people who come to stay at The Spirit of the Lakes will find outer peace by walking the grounds and connecting to the lake and inner peace will follow. They will have an opportunity to hear their own inner voice and be guided by their own inner wisdom.

I believe that there are natural steps in the development of spirituality and that this development is constantly evolving. Although much of the learning and growth work that is facilitated at The Spirit of the Lakes will be devoted to persons already on a spiritual path, it is my vision that we engage the general community. I see the center becoming a “hub” of local activities, that exposes people at all ages and levels to learning opportunities. Our classes and activities will be designed to create motivation and facilitate identification of spiritual agendas which we know will evolve from there.
I would like to see a community center develop alongside the Bed and Breakfast. We can create a “center of consciousness” for supporting parents and teaching resiliency skills, for community service opportunities, for the inclusion of artistic endeavors, and for professional internships and mentoring. In a way this center will be a spiritual stepping stone. I hope that much of what occurs here will revolve around a focus of promoting peace. The type of internal personal peace that leads to spiritual growth and evolution, and that eventually grows to embrace communities, nations, and our world. I am invested in bringing my “whole” person to join in this process of mutual growth and enlightenment.
